I still like the idea of a griffon who's somehow enslaved by a darkie. Escape rp would be AWESOME!!!

'Specially if the PC owner was an Adept. They could be holding the griffon's soul.

Slavery is a tough plot, especially since griffons are not only good-aligned but altruistic. Either the commands can't be innately evil, or the master has to keep the griffon in the dark about the true consequences. (The blinded griffon NPCs for sale would be an extreme example.) Well done, this could be great, but it's not something I'd suggest for a newbie.

But what I would suggest is that griffons are relatively easy to manipulate. Being altruistic makes them more susceptible to other's needs - or claimed needs.

In particular, young griffons reach maturity at age 3, and thus don't have the life experience of other characters. They may be smart, but they're likely to be terribly naive.

The adepts would more likely eat the griffon.

I could see it as an interesting project. To see if you could bend and twist the spirit of a "true and good" race to the whims and fancy of the dark Gods. Would take a lot of torture, punishment, et cetera.

I was thinking along the lines of total control, yes. Take the griffon's soul, beat and torture the griffon, sacrifice it regularly like Rusin said, with the griffon continually trying to escape. Maybe when carmen age-dies or I decide I need an alt...

Well, you can beat and torture and sacrifice, and steal souls from other races too.

I would always welcom another slave... griffon or otherwise...

My griffon warlock Abdar started as a griffon slave.

The Adept merc Dracon bought Abdar and kept him enslaved through blood magics.

Abdar was beaten by other Adepts regularly but never killed. They would have had to compensate Dracon for my price in gold and the blood for the binding spells.

In secret Abdar got the various lighties to challenge Dracon to duels to release me. I forget who actually accomplished it but it took three different people fighting him. This was all going around during the weapon switch overs too, so no one knew what to use.

Eventually Abdar was freed and lead a life as a Meissan Hammerite before committing a lightening-errific suicide in protest to the Taslamaran/Imperial War.
